Hi,
I'm Ross Davies
Actively practicing and exhibiting performance artist specialising in self-reflection through physical and mental tests of endurance. Performing live, in galleries and at events. Alongside my performance practice, I direct and curate exhibitions. I recently directed 'Cooridinate' which will be in the Peter Scott Gallery this June and had an attendance of over 1000 visitors. Another of my most recent projects was curating a popup exhibition in The Storey Gallery, Lancaster which had an attendance of over 300 on the opening event.
Teaching is at the core of what I want to achieve, in particular, understanding that Fine Art is an essential subject within a school curriculum and a gateway to many successful careers. To promote this I am also co-founder of the Dare2Wear organisation that offers creative workshops to primary and secondary schools in the Lancaster and Morecambe area. I now work at an academy in Salford, Manchester practicing a progressive method of teaching to children aged 11-16.
The main goal is to develop a credible portfolio in teaching, curating and art practice.
A graduated performance artist with experience in teaching, management and curating.
